Married since June 22, 2007, committing themselves to live out their lives for Jesus, Rick and Karen never could have imagined that God would prepare them to one day become overseas missionaries. God first planted missions in their hearts by the opportunity to serve in their hometown church in Cincinnati which then led to the importance of getting out of debt, their eyes being opened to the need of an open door for foster care and that later magnified on a global scale through multiple international mission trips. Over time, seeds of significant experiences had grown into a specific direction on their lives that they couldn’t ignore, reinforced by a clear command from the Holy Spirit- they must “GO” to serve the people of the Dominican Republic!
Along with 3 of their children- Colin, Valerie and Vincent (their two oldest- Austin and Bradyn, now adults, live in the United States), the family has lived in Santiago, Dominican Republic since August 2019. Today, Rick and Karen both share a strong love for the Lord, people and missions that brings continuous joy in contentment. Their hearts desire is to see souls saved, Christians discipled and communities transformed by the love of Jesus.
“We believe in God the Father, His son Jesus Christ and the gift of His Holy Spirit. In service to Him, as He’s given so much to us, we will continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus anywhere that He leads us to go. Sharing the gospel of Christ and living it out by grace, in love and truth.“ – Rick and Karen Vogsberger
"We, however, will not boast beyond measure, but within the limits of the sphere which God appointed us- a sphere which especially includes you. For we are not overextending ourselves, for it was to you that we came with the gospel of Christ; not boasting of things beyond measure, that is, in other men's labors, but having hope, that as your faith increased, we shall be greatly enlarged by you in our sphere, to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man's sphere of accomplishment. But 'he who glories, let him glory in the Lord.' For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends." - the Apostle Paul II Corinthians 10:13-17
