It’s a wonder sometimes how God continues to provide and deliver, allow and let be. BUT, at the same time, it’s not. As scripture says,
"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” - Jesus, to His disciples sleeping Matthew 26:41

The spirit within us as believers helps us, leads us, guides us but as we are still in our flesh, our weak flesh, sometimes it’s just that easy to find things hard to comprehend. Thank God that He is a loving Father. A Father that is faithful, a Father that is strong, steady and redeeming. As He is for a dear sister of ours here in the Dominican Republic and for the many that come together in service to our King. Here, the second photo that I’d like to share, well- it’s a favorite photo of mine that was actually one of the first photos I captured during the beautiful project to build her a new home. Why my favorite? Because to me it reflects exactly what Jesus shared-
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me." Matthew 16:24

How does our service here in the DR all come together? Well, we could say that in perfect harmony, it can simply be living out the mission statement of SCORE- “Glorify God through missions in obedience to the great commission”. If we are willing to desire Him, seek His truth and believe in Him then we in sync should want to obey Him. We should want to follow after His example but yes, with that brings taking up a cross. Having to carry pain, hurt, selfishness, sin, etc. but yet pushing ahead with our God who rescues. That’s right, serving Him, it won’t always be easy, but…
"For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith." Paul, Galatians 6:8-10

We’re so incredibly grateful. We’re grateful to the churches and ministries that we serve. We’re grateful to the church that is serving with us. We’re grateful also to all those that through His goodness, as a desire comes to the surface that stems out of curiosity and a willingness to seek for truth in this world, well, there’s also the opportunity for the mission within the mission. The reality of when there are those that choose to partake in a mission trip yet they’re lost, confused, sad. But…
…truth is from Him and truth is made complete in His son, Jesus Christ.
Then…God.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
